Default Z30DT Swirl Flap error P1112-62

    Hi all

As per title I have an error code of P1112-62 (swirl flap stuck open bank 2).

From reading I can see many have bypassed these on a 1.9 but I canít see many that have done these on a Z30DT.

    i saw this
    https://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showt...-Engine-lights

but I was under the impression that these engines couldnít be touched regarding the ecu remapping, has anyone had any experience with having these engines remapped as I would live to have the dpf regen removed as well as the swirl flaps deleted.

Anyway like the 1.9 is there a master control swirl flap that has to be working on these engines so I can glue the others open?
Has anyone removed their inlet manifolds to clean it? Was it an awkward job to do?

Posdibly further questions to come as I might try and take them off and clean them on Saturday if nothing els can be done.

    cheers

    GSMB

A quicky question, is bank 2 to the front or rear inlet manifold?

Ok so I managed to change my scv instead of the swirl flaps, but I now know that it’s the actuator not working but on bank 2 (bank 2 being that the front I now know) and I did clean all the inlet manifolds up do should be better now.

I might see if I can find someone to map it out and should be fine with it as they are sprung open and vac closed so no need to glue it open.

If I remember right the swirl flaps are controlled by vacuum but position feedback is by the potentiometer at the end. Check for electrical connection at the sensor point and/ or use a vac source on the vac pipe to see if it will open. I had a split diaphragm on swirl valve actuator on my old 1.7 izuzu diesel that caused a fault so finished up replacing it and it ran great afterwards.

Well done on the scv replacement

Good luck with it. I do love my V6 z30dt

Cheers mate, I couldn’t see any connections for a potentiometer only a connection for the actuator, which your right it is vacuum controlled unit. I did rev the engine and I didn’t see it move so I swims it’s knackered, but rather than messing about with it I might see if I can get it mapped out.

If it's the bank to the front of the car, the potentiometer bit is near the egr left side of the engine near the oil filler under the plastic engine cover. Look for a black circular part underneath the egr electrical connector.

It's just underneath the arrow end on Google image:

Both sets of swirl flaps worked fine, but I did give them a clean.

The black circular thing I though was just the actuator.

How much should it move via the throttle?

It operates by the ecu operating the vac solenoid (blue and black I think), which is not just dependant on throttle. There should be a T or Y piece where the vacuum

You could try using a vac source to see if you've just got a split pipe or check the electrical connector on it
