Has my mapped been wiped?

Evening all I'm just after a little advice. I've had my veccy 1.9 cdti 150 for 6 years now and I've been running it with a DTUK Green box for years I've been more than happy with the performance it's nice and lively but it did smoke a lot so I thought a map would be better. So a friend of friend who come recommended mapped it but it feels nowhere near as fast or as aggressive as it did with the box on. The thing is I took the box off just before it was mapped so could this have messed the map up in anyway ? On the plus side it feels lovely to drive and no smoke but no poke. Anyone had the same problems? Didn't the map work? Are the boxes just more aggressive than a map? Any help would be appreciated.

TBH I would consider going back to who mapped it and either asking him to sort or take it off. Go back to standard and speak to Teapot.

ps yes the DTUK boxes might be somewhat aggressive just adding more fuel, which would account for the smokiness of it...
