I usually worry a little but the car sails through with nothing of concern!

Hope the same applies to you

    Well, the result was...

    1. A corroded brake pipe
    2. Oxygen sensor
    3. Fuel leak

I'm awaiting a call tomorrow for the cost estimate. But overall, the garage said it was a good solid car.

I'm quite pleased with it considering how little I paid for it - let's hope the bill is small!

Ok, well this has turned out puzzling.

The garage phoned to say that they had ordered from the dealer and fitted a new fuel pipe and fittings - fuel leak repaired. So far so good.

The other failure point was that the EML was on, and I told him I thought an oxygen sensor was faulty. However he said he read the codes, and monitored the live data, and discovered that both sensors were working, and the light stayed off on a test drive, so he will now pass it.

Question is, I know fine well it will be back on again soon! Any ideas what is causing it?

Bank 1 sensor 2. That's post-cat. If it comes on after a long drive and the sensor is still reading correctly then i'd assume that could be pointing to a failing catalytic converter.

I would still change the O2 sensor first though, given it's the cheaper option.
