Did you actually check for the corrosion of the caliper in the slider area as I suggested earlier?

Glazed discs and pads are usually a sign of over heating..maybe something was 'stuck' on in the past..caliper seized or dragging..either way its cheap enough to change them

they were all fine and still had grease on them. I'm going to have to try and get a wire brush drill attachment that will fit in the sliders and see if that helps as well. But they seemed fine.

Discs and pads haven't even Covered 2k miles so I hope they don't need replacing.

Something must of definitely made them drag because today was the first time driving it after doing the work and the performance actually surprised me. It picked up better than it ever has. So there must of been something sticking before.

All pistons moved OK when with the piston tool. I'll try a some wet and dry on the discs and pads tomorrow see if that helps.

Just as a last clarification, the rubber slider has to be pushed out of the caliper itself in its entirety to see the hole. Corrosion constricts the hole squashing the river reducing its diameter that then sticks on the pin.

Your a legend. I didn't do that first time so I done all 4 sides yesterday.

I took the rubbers off and my god they were bad it looked like dried lithium grease, there were hard to get off but i can now understand why. Like you said, they stop the slider pins moving. Cleaned them with a wire spiral brush on a drill and they were like new. After putting some silicone grease on the sliders they were 100x better. I also rubbed the pads and discs with sandpaper.

Today getting off the drive was silent and thought what what a result. And the power from the engine is brilliant now.

But after 5 mins of driving that noise is back. It doesn't happen when braking normally or coming to a stop. It happens when I'm stopped on a slop and I just release some pressure off the pedal just enough so the car rolls but there is still pressure on the disc.

But maybe the discs are at fault due to over heating because the pads mustn't of been releasing properly. Because the power lag isn't there any more.

I'm not to worried about it now tbh because the power is much better and the brakes do work 100x better,

Thanks for all the replies. Helped a lot

    Well done.

You could do run out checks on the discs etc as a double check. You might be lucky in that the pads may have worn wonky and a new set might cure it.

Discs and pads as a kit are cheap enough to do. I can't fault Oem GM stuff from auto vaux.

If you're really cheap, wait until they re wear straight, but that's your choice/risk
