Hi Happened a couple of times now...From cold,on start-up a load clanking sound can be heard,fades quickly & does not seen to occur when engine at running temp.Car is 1.8 vvt 113k Any ideas?

It's a 1.8 petrol.
There's no DMF on it.
Rule that out then

At a punt I'd guess it was the phasers cold startup rattle before oil has recirculated from sitting. Lasts anywhere from 1-3 seconds
If it is that noise, according to the dealer it's normal and only when it makes that noise when the ending has been running is it an issue
