Following on from this question the other day:

Finished fitting the capacitor tonight something to stop the lights dimming when sub gets going

Also fitted clamps to hold sub in position
System doesn't do a bad job, I managed to set a BMW's alarm off two cars away testing it with doors open

    Question

A while back i read loads of threads on talkaudio forum some really technical that said Power Caps don't do anything. I would be interested to know if your headlights still dim a bit?

I fitted an extra battery in my boot and when stationary you can still see the glove box light dim a bit still when giving it large.

The capasitor basicaly helps the amp to have a more eficient source of power. When you hook up the amp directly to the battery a long cable is needed, which is not the ideal, when you add a capasitor is like having the battery right beside the amp. Amps need an inmediate source of power in other words. On high end sistems you can hear a small improvement on quality do to the capasitors.

I don't know about the lights yet. But 'testing' yesterday the display on the cap only dropped from 14.0 volts down to 13.6 comes back up quick.
