    Default Another noob!

    Hello all,

Don't own anything as of yet, but I'm looking at getting a vectra C (1.9cdti)

Just came to get some knowledge and 'what to look for' when purchasing one.

    So err, hi 😎

    Welcome,

This thread gives you a good idea on what to look engine wise with the 150's there's plenty of us with them and a lot of knowledge on these boards about them

Just in case you didn't know, there's two versions of the 1.9 CDTI, the 8V 120 bhp and the 16v 150 bhp, the badge on the back will be a good indicator, silver and red for the 150 flavour, and all silver for the 120 version.

Welcome... just look at how you are going to use the car...if you are going to do lots off short trips stick to a petrol....as it takes a diesel longer to warm up and because of that if you do loads of short trips the engine will never reach working temperature.... this makes them less economical but if you do lots of short trips but the car has loads of them during the day.. it is best to get a diesel as the car will reach working temperatures and give you the economical figures it should also the 16v 150 does have stuff that needs to be addressed but most of them are already done by now so look up the stuff about them because a good 150 can go on for quite some time... one of my mates is a cab-driver and he has a cdti 150... the car has done over 380 miles and it is still going strong and looks like it just came out of the showroom... it also has the full xp2 kit on it so it looks sweet.
