The simple way to get yourself a treat.

Encourage the wife, extremely subtly (and this is where the skill comes in) that she should invite her sister/close friend/mother around for tea. (caution - if she suspects your up to something its blown). Better still, pray to god that she will think of it all on her own.

Then, when she rings you up at work to let you know XXX is coming round, you reply with a genuine sounding positive voice 'oh that will be nice, you'll be able to have a lovely girly chat'.

This a) excuses you from an evening of boring hair/makeup/old school friends talk and b) makes her think your really considerate that your thinking of her.

Then, let thing simmer for 20 mins while she whistles away all happy about the upcoming evening, then call her back and cautiously suggest you were thinking of buying XXX for yourself on the way home from work.

Ive just pulled a corker and managed to blag myself an expansion pack to a PC wargame I love to play. I score double points as shes actually making a special trip into town to buy it for me LMAO.... Beat that!

my missus knows all the scams m8, tried 'em all and no go. I just keep asking now until she eventually gives in for a quiet life. It has now finally worked for 19's YIPPEEEEE!!! just got to find some at the right price now.

I remember once we had some friends round for dinner and I was sent out to get some cream that she needed for part of the meal - so off I went to Sainsburys.

I ended up coming back with a new espresso/cappucinno machine after a detour into Comet!! LOL. I did remember the cream though!

Similar story with a hi-fi shop. Went off to get some little bits and bobs that I needed - came back with a new Dolby Digital/DTS surround sound processor

Whenever I say I'm just popping to the shops, she's wondering what the hell I'm going to come back with!

Mine still doesn`t know what the wheels cost, still have testicles till somebody tells her *lol* I am on a spending ban at the moment though ... I did receive a little box from LMF today, she looked at it but hasn`t asked whats in it yet ....
