    Vehicle : Insignia Grand Sport

    Trim : DESIGN

    Engine : 1.5T (165)

    Year : 2018

    Mileage : 1000

    Default Bye Bye Vectra

I will shortly be replacing my 11-year old Vectra CDTI 150 with the following:-

New Insignia Grand Sport 1.5t (165PS) Design

    Colour: Mineral Black Metallic

Yes it is base spec, but I'm not bothered about the options it doesn't have but it does have a 17" spacesaver instead of a silly can of foam, and will have front and rear parking sensors on it.

First impressions on the test drive are very good, it is a very nice drive and lively with the 165PS engine rather than the base 138PS. So smooth and quiet, so different from the diesel, and not far off my old 2.0T, (before it was remapped, that is LOL).

Pick up the car in 2 weeks, pictures to follow.

Finally got a date for mine, well if towards the end of March counts as a date.

I went 1.6D/ 136 Elite with a couple of extra toys, VXR interior, Heated front screen, Heated wheel and Heads up.

I will be watching for your updates as I wait for mine (well the companies but you know what I mean!)
Enjoy it, they are a great drive.

    Apologies for the thread hijack....
How does the heated screen operate, is it like the ford screens ie a heater element running through it?

    Hi-Jack over..

Tbh I have no idea. I had 2 cars on Vx' s 3 day test drive (Grand Sport and Sports Tourer) but neither had a heated screen. I have been waiting for about a month and I'm getting impatient. A colleague went for a Kia Sportage but it didn't appeal to me. I will try and remember to post something when i get it. ... if i don't and you remember pm me.

    ..
The courtesy car (Vx Corsa) that the garage lent me last year had a heated screen and steering wheel. Yes, the screen is just like the Ford ones. You can see the minute wires running through it.

On mine (which has heated windscreen and steering wheel, as does the next one I have coming!) there are tiny wires running through - I didn't notice them at first it was Mrs Drinks that pointed them out, and I could only see at a certain angle/light!

Excellent though as it saves getting out there with the ice scraper - just need to put heated front windows in now so you can see the mirrors!

and to the OP - John, enjoy, they are very comfortable as Rich says - I currently have the Elite Nav 1.5T Sports Tourer and have the SRI Nav 1.5T Sports Tourer on order next as couldn't get the Elite again lol - my Dad's 2.0T petrol Elite Nav Sports Tourer was just built and left the plant yesterday
