Default Dipped Lights Distance - not brightness

    Hello All,

The main beam is nice and bright not an issue,

Its the normal dipped mains, they dont give much distance, probably two long white lines worth,

When i had my Pug 206 - and normal 55w bulbs - i could see ahead at least 3.5 long white lines worth,

How can i increase the "view" distance of the lights -

Yes i have tried the light beam adjuster - this makes no diff - only a few mm here n there

Do u get new bulbs - and what is recommended,
( i cant afford hids, or expensive bulbs )

    Thanks in Advance

I would probably get the lights checked at an MOT station to make sure they are adjusted correctly, I thought mine weren't lighting up as far as I'd like them to be, so took it to my MOT tester and he looked and found they were pointing low "but only just, still would have passed" but it did make a difference that I could see much further afterwards.

Also make sure the lenses are clean, sounds stupid I know, but with this naff weather and all the salt and grit on the road, they get dirty quickly, again mine last night I was thinking they weren't lighting up very much, a good clean later, was fine again. True, by the time I reached the end of the road they were filthy again, but nevermind.

    Hi,
Try Duncans method.." A kind of fix for the poor pre facelifts headlights" from his post dated 7/11/2007 - I used it to improve distance our 55 Reg Facelift Hatchback..along with Ring automotive "Xenon" Ultimate (or Maximum) replacement dipped beam bulbs. Cheers!!

HIDS are around £ 30 a pair, take about an hour to fit. Yep they'll fail the mot but at least you will be able to see your way to the MOT station. Best money i spent on mine except perhaps the 314s or the@Teapot remap.
