Default Car's in for it's MOT

Checking through my paperwork this morning as I know the MOT must be due soon and noticed my car was registered on 13th May 2004, so I thought I'd better get it booked in soon as. A local garage to my work has squeezed it in today - result. The car was only serviced at the dealer last Thursday, so I'm not expecting any problems. Even so, I'm still nervous.

Would a service not have flagged anything up that an MOT would?

Shouldn't worry to much Alex as you have a good relationship with your service department ........If it was any other VX garage i would be very nervous as they couldn't spot a car with two wheels missing and if the tech 2 didn't tell them to fix it then they wouldn't know it was broken !!!!!!!!

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

Chris - the car is at a back street garage for the MOT. The guy is a one man band with a queue of cars to do today, so hopefully he won't find work for the sake of it. Finger crossed.

Andy - got your book, all stamped up dude.

lucky boys!!! my car is in for mot this month too, only here in NI we cant just take it to a local garage. It goes into the local driver vehicle licensing centre and gets tested to the hilt!! not really looking forward to it. You boys dont know how handy you's have it

Not necessarily - MOT has things that aren't part of (or are rarely checked) in a service.

However given that your car has been serviced well given your posts about your normal dealer, I wouldn't think you'll have anything to worry about - should sail through no problems.

Can you get your MOT's done by your council? We do here - the council just do MOT's (no work should there be any) which means they don't say you need a new wobbly bit, when you don't...
