Now I only need to solve the hatchback's gear linkage or clutch problem. If you know where to begin please tell

Gear changes are perfect with engine off. With engine running (and not warmed up) it's usually hard to get in gear. Pumping the clutch or brake pedal seems to help.
You could start by bleeding the csc... but in most cases it's the clutch that needs replacing

Thanks, I'm afraid that it may be the clutch. The csc was bled last year but it didn't make things better. The mileage is about the same for both cars, <110 000km (68k miles?). I've noticed that when it's hard to get in 1st gear the car moves slightly forward when trying, with the clutch fully engaged. Also I can always easily put it into 3rd or 4th gear, move a bit forward and then get into 1st gear. Don't know if this points to the clutch or gear linkage, haven't tried adjusting the linkage since both "connectors" seems to be damaged.

Well don't wait to long, split the lot and inspect it... to be honest I would just get a new clutch kit and CSC and replace it.

When doing that you have to take off the gear linkages anyway so you'll be able to see if there is to much play on them.

Those spark plugs are intended for the BioPower version of the B207. Unless you've tuned your Z20NET to over 240 BHP, you would be better off using NGK PFR6T-10G.

OPC-Line is the Opel equivalent of VX's SRI XP.

Thanks, don't think I'm skilled enough for this kind of work but will ask around. Have seen a few threads discussing LUK and V6 clutches so I'll do some forum searching.

Thanks, yes, my tuner recommended these for stage 1 and higher, I'm not running near 240bhp though.

Thanks, good to know, I've been confused more than once when following SRi discussions here

Just to clarify....SRI XP is an SRI with the 'VXR Styling Pack' (VXR boot spoiler, VXR side skirts, bigger wheels, and on its second version (XP2) VXR gear knob).

And as you almost certainly already know, SRI is GTS as an Opel.

Another question, I thought I should try to adjust the gear linkage this weekend but since all gears do engage fine with engine off I guess this isn't needed? Should mean that alignment is OK?
