Two black Vectra 2,0t's
So here's a thread for my two Vec's, at last. Since the estate has undergone some work (not really visible outside tho...) most of my pics will be related to it for now. The hatchback was bought a week ago.
This is a 2006 2,0t with the boring "Enjoy" package. Bought it four years ago and it didn't look too good then, wonder if the previous owner even washed it. Winter wheels on the pics, summer ones isn't much better, Saab 16"
After buying it I noticed that it was a bit too long for my garage, or maybe my garage was too short? Pic taken with car's front touching the opposite wall. 2014-10-26 16.08.jpg

After screwing around with jacks for some time I decided to build a pair of highly advanced car ramps instead. Didn't measure much so they could've been better, don't even know if they'll work with the hatchback (think it's a bit lower) but we'll see... 2017-08-05 15.10.35.jpg Attachment 118761 Attachment 118762

Changed the gearbox oil, I know Fuchs isn't the best out there but seems good enough. Got much better, maybe because the gearbox contained >3 liters before and now 2,5-2,6. 2017-06-08 15.32.53.jpg2017-06-08 15.3.jpg

Then over to the hatchback. I wrote about it in my introduction thread, the previous owner let a garage do a timing, balancechain and tensioner job on it (the tensioner was broken) and used the wrong alignment tool. At last they sorted it, after I googled, found out about the different tools and told them. Of course the shop said that the car sounding like an old fishing boat had nothing to do with their work. They screwed up other things as well but I hope it's OK now.
Since I hate badges I think all of them must go. Will probably plasti-dip the front like on the estate, maybe the chrome thingie on the boot lid too.
When it gets a bit warmer it'll get an engine and gearbox oil change. Engine oil (and filter) shouldn't be needed since the shop changed it a few months ago but then I don't trust shops much. Especially not the one that was involved. Front brakes will need to be changed within a year or two and the lower control arm bushes too. And the exhaust systems, that goes for both cars

Some good work you're doing there.
Thanks, unfortunately it doesn't look that good for long, hard colour the black one. At least they look good when newly washed
I'll have a go at the hatchback too, it really need some polish and wax.
