Just remembered something else that should make a bleep. Putting on the left or right parking light by flicking the indicator stalk left or right with the key removed.

Just tried that, no beep even with door open. unsure weather other things beep but i tried no seatbelt, door open when driving none of these things make a sound they just signal on the dash.

IIRC, the sounder for lights, indicators, and other warning noises is in the CIM unit. Whether it's a loose connection or CIM problem though is anyone's guess.

As has been said previously the fault lies with the Cim ,
There is a piezo speaker on the back of the circuit board and they are known to just fail .
The speaker is only secured with 2 x solder connections and is easy to change if you are handy with a soldering iron .
I have replaced a few over the years and the job can be done from start to finish in about 45 mins if you are handy with the spanners

Myself and @plasma will be in your rough area on sunday 25th feb ( about 26 miles from you ).
We can supply and fit the replacement speaker or even a complete replacement cim if you have the security code .
Obviously there would be a charge for the parts time etc however this would be a fraction of what a garage would charge you .
We both have tech2 so can read your fault codes etc,
Pm myself or plasma and i am sure we can sort something out .

I will be very surprised if it is a bad connection , all of the ones i have replaced were faulty/bad speakers .
Although you may be lucky and have nothing to lose by trying

Still easy enough to to solder new speaker in?? Where did you source a new speaker on your previous repairs?

I'd rather try this first as sound is the only symptom I have of faulty cim module, I've spent the last two days reading up on changing the whole unit (worst case)

Sounds very possible - when you had the problem, did the duff speaker generate a "spanner light" or a fault code ?

Just reading back through the post to try source what speaker to buy and must have missed this reply.. thanks for the offer.. I understand replacing the cim module can be risky business but if it's just strip down replace speaker and refit without any risks then I think I'd be more then capable..

Still considering though because if it is worst case then I may aswell use your professional skill so I won't be crapping my pants doing it lol.

Could you inbox be prices please just for speaker change and then a price if it's worst case and needs complete replacement?

I don't have any codes I don't think as I don't think I got booklet with the car.

    Thanks
