Default Advice Required SRi seats leather conversion

I'm toying with the idea of getting a second hand set of seats for my Veccy & getting the full leather trim at Classic Car Services, which happens to be down the road from where I live.

I've a company car in Design spec but would like the SRi sports seats, my idea would be to get a set of Sri seats from the breakers, get the retrim (in two tone black/another colour) the Design already has "leather" covered door cards so wouldn't bother with them & keep the original seats to refit when the car is returned in a couple of years.

Are the pre-facelift seats the same as facelift in terms of fitting & shape?

    Any feedback appreciated

I put a set of 2006 SRi seats into my 2002 Eleganc and the fitting was exactly the same! There is a set on eBay now for arround £100

I've been thinking of doing the same, the only thing that concerns me are the side airbags.

if you disconnect the battery and leave the car alone for 15 mins, the airbag capacitors drain off and leave them inert.. they will still go off if you use them as a football ( don't ask).. but they will be safe enough for you to remove from the car..and when you put them back in and re-connect the battery, you won't need to tech2 the airbag controller either..

I know I missed the auction last time round, just a bit concerned the foam might be stuffed, just playing with the idea at the minute

Neil, the seats are interchangable so you will be fine.

You will find that if you have only the four seats to do, and not the door cards, it will be way less than £1000 to get just the seats done.

I've just won an auction on e-bay for a full SRi interior, supposed to be from a 2006 car so they should be ok for the job, they were only £100 so shouldn't lose out much if I don't go ahead
