injector spray pattern question
Hi ,had an issue with rough running on my 2006 Vectra 1.9 cdti 120 .and narrowed it down to injector No.4 .Pulled the injector , stripped and cleaned it.Once I removed the carbon build up and sprayed cleaner through the nozzle I got it coming out of 3 holes which were very hard to see.Put it back in and the car is running much better and no more rough idling. But my question is does anyone know how many holes there should be as I intend to pull and clean the rest ?

I think they have 5 holes. I could just about see them after careful and gentle cleaning with a brass wire brush

spray some penetrating oil down the injector hole... let it do it's job spray dome more than try to dislodge it with a flat head screwdriver... what holds it in place is carbon/soot if you can't find a long enough screwdriver take a wire coat hanger undo it and use that last method has never let me down

Thanks Northpole, tried all off the above with no joy as there seems to be no lip to pull up on.

I'm sure it is more than three two but down have one at hand. The holes would be evenly spread around the circumference.

i know there isn't a lip to pull on but if you keep at it it should start to come loose ... worst case: you leave it in and the injector won't seal right causing a pressure drop in that cylinder that can cause al sorts of misfires and fuel to spray backup.... ps those injector seats/seals are cheap enough just get a set and go at it until it comes out.
