    Default Recommend me a sunblind

    Okay, so it's glorious outside.

But we don't want our daughter getting sun stroke whilst she is in the Veccy. The Meriva isn't a problem as it has dark tinted windows.

So my question is can you recommend any sunblinds for the Veccy (estate)

    Thanks

I have been looking at these, saw them in Autocar, they fit the whole window and won`t fall off like the suction cup ones can .

Being serious though, just for a second mind! , have you thought about retro-fitting the blinds that fit into the door cards? You can buy a pair of them and you just need to do a bit of cutting of the door cards to install them - much neater than any other option.

Has this been done Duncan? Looks like there making a comeback for this year model as epc has them listed for the facelift SRI. The retail price of the door card with sunblind is £174 plus vat, they are cheaper by £5 than the one without sunblind!!

I would be intested in a retrofit but I would need door cards from an elite so it wouldn't have the holes for manual window winder.

You don't need new door cards, you just buy the blinds and the surround bit (that covers the hole in the door card) and fit them. The trickiest bit, I'd imagine, is the cutting of the top of the door card. Afriad I haven't got any tips on that as mine came with them as standard.

I'm interested in these. emailed them for a price for the Estate. if not too expensive, may get all the rear windows done.

What price would I pay to have the entire rear of the estate tinted.

That's for a whole door card, of which you'll need two of course if you were doing it that way.

I've got the info relating to the sun blinds, and it's not cheap either.

For an estate you'll need RH and LH sunshade (13139257 and 13139256) - bad news is that they are £108.50 + VAT each!! I thought they were only about £50 each.

On top of that you'll need two mouldings that clip into the hole you'll have made to give a neat finish - 24465571 (RH) and 24437619 (LH) at £9.21 + VAT each.

Makes it a bit of an expensive set of sunblinds! - you could get the rears tinted for that! lol I'm sure I read in the past that somebody had got them for about £50 each - either I dreamt it or they got them from a scrappy or something.
