Default HID not working after changing battery?

I changed my battery the other day and now my HIDS are not working? The battery was out for about 1 hour could the module have lost the setting for the xenons being activated?

If you had your UEC Module programmed for Factory Xenons at the time you had them fitted it is unlikely that it has lost the settings but a quick check with Tech2 or equivalent will show what the settings are.

Alternatively try a module reboot. Disconnect the battery for at least 15 minutes and then reconnect it.

I had one side giving me problems... turns out the OEM h7 connectors adapter plate was touching the housing thus causing a short to ground... funny that so i pulled the backing open and checked it this morning as I checked if the starter was working and the spade connectors where still in place.... it just touched the housing but i couldn't see it last night it didn't even spark but when i took the starter off and tested it with the lights switched on I could hear it start... this made me look at the spade connectors and as soon as i pulled the OEM H7 connector out of the housing the light turned on.....

so i would say check that too but i had one side working so i knew it wasn't any of the fuses... check the Fuse 8 and 19 they are the ones next to the battery.... mini fuses 8 should be a 10 amp and 19 should be a 15 amp fuse.... ( but if you have it in with a external warning canceler you don't need fuse 19) I added it anyway.... just to make sure.

I should really get the tech2 out and turn on the xenon option... so i can remove the warning cancelers... but they worked fine until the OEM H7 bulb adapter touched the housing and causing a short.

PS another note: from the manual i read that the window washers are powered by fuse 8 also so if that works than fuse 8 should be fine.

I have a sneaky feeling xenons may need to be re-enabled, I could be wrong, but thats the first place I'd look.

We are talking about aftermarket HIDS? I doubt the Xenon setting will need re enabling in the UEC, even if it had lost the setting the light would still work, you just get the bulbs flickering when they are turned off and a bulb out warning on the dash. If you have a Multi-meter probe the connector in the headlight to see if power is there.
