Default Limp home mode and fuel pump

    Afternoon all.

Does anyone know if the fuel pump on my 54 plate 2.2 direct SRi is covered by the warrenty?

This is a really wierd one!
I had about 1/4 tank of petrol and i parked the car on the side of the road with the engine running. The road where i parked was on a funny slope, backwards and right. I was gone for about 10 mins max, when i got back to the car, the petrol light was flashing and the needle was right on the bottom as if it was completely out of juice. The engine was still ticking over fine. So i thought nothing of it, its just flowed to the back of the tank away from the guage, i thought. When i pulled off, it started juddering REALLY bad as if it was going to stall or run out of fuel. Just a bit of air in the pipe i thought, so i carried on. It didnt go away. i only live 5 mins away from where i parked. When id juddered my way back to the house the engine management light came on briefly so i switched the engine off and restarted. Limp home mode had kicked in.
So off to the daealer i went (VERY SLOWLY) to get it sorted, they have just informed me that the fuel pump is knackered and i need a new one. Is this covered by warrenty?
    PLEASE HELP!

I would hope it is covered under warranty mate. If it's not they'd better a damned good reason why not.

    Cheers mate,
    More bad news though.
Just spoke to them to find out when i can pick my car up as they said they had ordered the fuel pump. The answer............................................ 14th May!!!

Not amused, apparently all vauxhall dealers in my area dont have the pump so they have had to order from Germany? And theres a back-log too!

Do you think ill be able to get a courtesy car out of them as they said 2-3 days initally?

If your car is under warranty, then they should give you a car.

Any warranty repair taking over 24 hours to fix, they should issue a 'like for like' courtesy car. Demand a like for like car or you'll be fobbed off with a 1.0 Corsa. Say you need it for business travel.
