Weird keyfob behaviour

The keyfob from my Signum wouldn't lock the car, but the unlock button worked OK, so I changed the battery and did the reprogramming bit as described on here. After that it wouldn't UN-lock the doors either but I could unlock the tailgate.....

Does this mean a new key as I don't have a spare? I bet THAT'S going to be expensive as well!

not as expensive as you'd think, IF you have the security code.

Chances are its a duff microswitch on the lock side. You can solder in a new one easy enough and cost peanuts.

I do have the code, I think, as I still have the Passcard that came with the car originally.

The switches look like surface mount stuff to me, not the easiest items to unsolder in my experience, but where would I get some more just like that please?
