Default Some *u*t hit my car in car park and drove off .....

Come back to find front smoked cluster smashed to pieces and front wing badly dented towards front on ns (where it curves into headlight unit) needs new wing and light - wing is 99 + vat from local VX dealer and 125 + vat for the light unit - then they need fitting and the wing painting - prob fit the cluster myself so was wondering if this is the right one on ebay rather than fork out so much! for 2003 SRi 2.2 - any advice appreciated

Sorry to hear the news - some people have no respect, driving off knowing fine well they've hit a car.

As for the light it looks like the right one - assuming yours is normal halogen light, no AFL or xenons. Description seems to imply it was taken off his car, indicating it's probably the original Vx one. Lugs all intact as well which is good.

Just don't pay too much for it, you can get a pair of them from LMF for £170, so £85 each if they sell them separately.

Wing, not sure. I was surprised at the price you gave as it was less than I'd have expected, but looking at my invoice from last year (when I needed one replaced) it's within a few quid of yours. I suppose other options are ebay and scrappies for cars that have had ether a rear-end write off or a front offside write-off.

£75 for a used one?! Blimey, Seems a bit steep - although they are basing it on Vx retail prices I suppose so £50 less than that. Another tenner gets you an LMF one!

fitting of the wing is dead easy so I would get it sprayed (hope for a good colour match) and fit yourself.

I take it you have reported it? not everyone drives off and leaves a letter, before you start fixing things wait a week or two and see if the guilty have been to the clink and also reported it, could be some old girl who would be terrified of the possible confrontation and just wanted to go home and sort things out in a manner she'd regard as safe.
