Replacing CD30 with CD70 NAV...
Hi all, long time no post, this coming weekend I will be back in the seat of a Vectra, it'll be no surprise to know its yet another Black SRi CDTi (2007 XP1), I don't go looking for black ones, I really don't!!
Now then, the one I am getting only has a CD30, if I have got this right, I can purchase a CD70/screen that are paired together and it will work, obviously requiring a GPS aerial, but I am planning on the generic ones off eBay and stashing away under the dash.
Would this be all I need, or am I missing something obvious or expensive? Cheers in advance.

nope, thats pretty much it.. check to see if you have a centre speaker though. Only issue will be speed dependent volume as that wire is missing on the cd30 loom
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services

Pretty much correct in what you say.
I changed the CD30 for a CD70, and it was nice and easy. If you get a paired head unit & screen, with the right screen surround, it's pretty much plug and play. I used one of the small fakra type GPS antennas and it worked fine when just put into the hole in the centre of the dash where the optional speaker can go.
I didnt have have to do anything with mine, but I believe sometimes you may have to have a configuration code set so that all the readings are correct. i.e. If you get a CD70 from a diesel and fit it into a petrol etc.
If if you are buying a CD70 from eBay etc., it would also be worth trying to get the car-pass details from the old/donor car in case you need to have any changes carried out to it at some point.

Pretty sure there's a how to for this if you set stuck

Dead easy and worth doing. I got an ebay antenna, put it in the centre speaker position and it locks on quicker than my Garmin ever did. Not sure on speed dependant volume though. I'm absolutely convinced my original CD30 did that - maybe I was lucky. The CD70 does seem to vary volume with speed. I won't contradict Plasma though. I might be mistaken or I might just have benefitted from Pre-facelift extras. I'll have to double check in the morning.

Nice one, thanks guys. There seems to be a few on eBay, so this looks to be the first job
