i've got a 65 plate vxline with the navi 900 screen. ive had the car for around 6 months and love it. last week the nav 900 screen and related centre console buttons just died on me. every now and then the radio kicks in for a few minutes (the screen is still dead though) but i can only control the radio via the steering wheel buttons.

anyhow i took it to bristol st motors vx last friday where they had it for the whole day. they then told me they wanted it back again for another 3 days to run wiring tests. they've had it 2 days so far and have just called to say after 20 hours of diagnostics it needs a new control unit. this doesnt mean much to me and as its under warranty i dont care too much. do they mean ecu or a control unit for the navi900? is this a common issue with insignia's or navi900 systems?

i get the impression bristol st are stretching out the warranty work as much as possible to charge vx for it. they've also give me a courtesy car for 3 days.
