Gear Selector Linkage under bonnet
DSC_0466.jpg
Morning all.
Trying to get to the bottom of rattle thats been bugging me for a while now.
Discovered that the gear selector? is quite loose. No tension when changing gear and you can actually feal it through the pedals/hear it slightly when going over rumble strips etc. I though it could possibly be Drop links or top strut mounts, but they are fine.
Is there a spring that holds this down or do i need to replace something else all together.

don't remember there being a spring, but there is a repair kit for a loose bush issue.
not sure if it would help here though.

Yeah. Had a look at the vid, but not sure that's the problem i have. The part that pivots in the pic above that the cables are attached to, is very loose and will kind of jump up and down very easily when going over any small bump or uneven ground. it does look like a cap on the top but god knows how you get it out. I might drop into the local Opel dealer and see if they have schematic i can look at to see whats what.

the cap needs to be drilled and ripped out, have a look at my shortshifter fitting post.
