Considering an Insignia Automatic CDTi-what to look for?

Hi all

My dad is considering buying an Insignia Automatic CDTi, not had an auto before so what kind of things should we look out for please?

Any help/advice/guidance would be so much appreciated. Looking at around a 2011-2014, preface, with the £150 road tax bracket.

Well I got the facelift auto and the tax is only £130 a year...

Watch out - check the insignia enthusiast forum for common issues (could well put you off buying one).
Buy with a full history, and ideally with a warranty. Much more costly to repair than the vectra.
Listen carefully for an engine knock (as you'll see from the other forum).
Good luck. Nice car to drive, but i'd avoid the sri as the ride is ridiculously hard.
