I know it seems stupid but how do you?

OK thanks
On my old Vec B (2.0 DTi) the filter was an element type in a black plastic enclosure and not a spin on type.
yep..the filter is located under the top cover of the engine.. look for a black plastic cap..
if you can wait till later this week i'll show you what you're looking for if you fancy a meet in MK?
MK donalds?
Drop the engine sheild, but support it as you do or it drops and rips.
Sump plug is to the rear right of the sump, torx drive required
Filter is at the front right, black housing just under the cover with 32mm nut fitting on top
So it's filler cap off, drain oil, change filter while oil is draining, remember to renew the rubber bands on the stalk inside of the filter housing, fit new filter, fit new sump ring, refit sump plug, fill with oil, 4.5 litres iirc, could be 5, and put cap back on, fire it up and leave to idle for a minute, turn off leave ten minutes, check level.
If you want to flush as well, just add to a warm engine and idle for up to ten mins, do not drive or rev car at this time, after you have done the oil change, add oil reconditioner to the new oil to ensure any flush left behind wont cause you grief.
hth
Thanks alot guys that really helps, it will have to wait until the weekend now tho... An MK meet sounds good but it will have to wait for my alloys to be fitted as i recently (while thinking about changing the oil) found that my tyre was bald so im on the skinny wheel for the mo. Get new wheels at weekend and adaptors following weekend!
EDIT: Got these 18"
If you want a MK meet, we can at the MK hockey Stadium with the MK chavs at the MK Krooze! or do something else? If you want any help organising i can
erm.. how about a chav free zone.. either that, or there is another 'workshop' meet this weekend on sunday?..come and meet some of the gang..
