Scooby, you could try the top end of the engine bay (towards the windscreen) there should be a flat-ish plastic casing about 2 foot across, should be in there mate.

If i'm wrong on the location then it's because I cannot be ar$$ed to go out to my car and look for myself, but thats where they usually are, if in doubt look for the flat-ish casing as mentioned earlier.

    Hope it helps

    Pretty much as Basil said.

Pop your bonnet and look at the plastic 'ledge' that is towards the windscreen (running across the width of the car). Go to the bit that is between the N/S suspension mount and the coolant tank and look past the spongy bit of 'beading'. You'll see a fairly large cover flap (fairly well disguised) that you need to pop up and inside you'll see the pollen filter. A couple of white clips either side at the top will release it.

I hope I've described that well enough for you to find it!!

Default Vauxhall Vectra water leak in passenger footwell

I have just fixed my Vectra (2003). As described by Duncan - thanks.

Additional comments: The hiden section beneath the passenger window wiper - on the plastic ledge that runs accross the windscreen. You can just about see that there is a split in the plastic that can be pulled up.

The white pollen filter can stay where it is, just in front of it is a hole (which will be covered in water and dirt) - just put you hand in and push the dirt through. A small bit of pressure will release it all.

My pollen filter was absolutely soaked so i asume this will probably need replacing. I will see how it dries out first!

This is definitely not a job for the garage - they will charge you lots of money £££.

    Good luck

Another 'victim' of the bunged up drain hole! Hope it didn't get as far as soaking your passenger side footwell carpet?

For the cost of a new filter, about a tenner(ish) for the (better) active charcoal one, I'd replace it TBH.

Do Halfords do pollen filters or is this a trip to VX?

Vauxhalls price for a pollen filter is approx the same price as elsewhere, as are many of their service parts.

    Somewhere around £10 to £12.
