cam chain

hi, i have a 04 petrol sri, i have been told to get the cam chain replaced, by someone i know, not the dealer. its only done 27000. i know the older 2.2 had a problem with the chains not being oiled, but thought vauxhall solved it. how long does the chain last before it needs chainging, should i get it done now.

it will last as long as it does ! i rekon it should be 100k ! but most get done when they sound noisey ! if yours is'nt silent or there abouts then you may want to consider it as the alternative is a new engine ! eeek ! they were modified for the new model but you still here of a failure every so often !

leave it be then.....it'll be fine..unless it's really noisy it's fine..
