I reckon there might be something in the fault finding section about this. I'll move your thread there and see if it helps
Sounds like the ABS module plug connector. Pull it off, put it back on, but if its working fine now nowt to worry about
Thanks Where is connector situated?
or your cim
mine has been doing the same, mostly the rev counter will either stop working or read incorrectly like 500 rpm doing 30mph in 4th, today both the speedo and rev counter did not work from start, restarted the engine a couple of time but nothing, then after 5 miles the speedo worked and rev counter reading low, stopped engine and restarted and all worked fine.
My has just gone today Saturday 5/5/18
this happened some time ago and few people said its the sim
so ill have to ring my old friend Andy Lamb to fix it.
I would take the lot off and clean it all with an electrical cleaner.. including the UEC...
well got some contact cleaner and removed the plug from the abs module, it did not look like it was dirty but cleaned it anyway, will see over the next few days if the rev counter or speedo keep working correctly if not then I will rip the dash out to check for dry joints
