    Default 3.2 and 2.8 engines?

    are these engines related?
why did gm go for the 2.8l for the veccy vxr and not the 3.2?

Emmission regulations worldwide... including the fact that a forced induction engine gives more power from a smaller engine which also results in more economy from the smaller engine.

Read my reply again.... that doesn't stop you from fitting a turbo (or 2) to a 3.2 engine by the way.... it won't be cheap but it can be done

friend of mine built a 3.2 twin turbo Astra F, using an Omega engine tied to an F28 box.

had nothing but trouble with cylinder issues, temperatures, and fuel wash under boost.

last thing I heard he was trying again with a brand new Saab block, got some pictures of it somewhere.................

IIRC, the sleeves on the 3.2 were considerably thinner than its 3.0 predecessor, and keeping no.6 cylinder cool was a real problem.

Courtney actually advertised a twin turbo conversion for the 2.5 Calibra, and called it the Viggen.
they gave up after constant issues, and removed it from sale.

Thats why you leave all the failure costs to the manufacturers.
