    Default internal door handle/lever

    Hi,
broke my wife's driver's side door lever at the weekend, went to open the door, puller the lever, heard a pop/crack and now the door won't open via this internal lever.
Whats the mechanism here and is it easy to replace?....

looks like a sealed unit, but yes cable. now need to see about separating the unit, once freed from the ****** door. Why so complicated I do not know!!!

You will probably have to replace the whole lock mechanism (not the barrel, just the bit that latch the door shut) as I think it's all one unit, however you might be able to strip it down to change just the cable

It's actually not too bad to change. It's just a Bowden cable (less than a tenner from your local dealer) from the inner handle to the lock mechanism. In my case the cast hook on the lock end of the cable had broken. To be honest the most difficult part of the job was getting the doorcard off. You also need to remove the plastic cover from the lock mechanism and undo the 3 bolts that secure the lock and you can then get sufficient space to connect the new cable.

    Less than an hour's work.

The cable unhooks from the catch mechanism. I might have a cable you can have, let me have a look.....
I have had to replace a door after some kind person put a large dent in it so this is still familiar to me.
