Default Suspension of GTS 3.0 V6 CDTi on a Estate 1.9 CDTi

    Hey guys, how are you?
I have got a Vectra C Estate 1.9 CDTi 150 CV Elegance Sport and I am thinking of trying to install the suspension (springs and shocks) of the GTS 3.0 V6 CDTi in my car, because I have understood it is a bit harder and a bit lower (15- 20 mm) ... I'm right, is that so? Can it be done? I would appreciate someone to help me and guide me.
Greetings to all and thank you very much.

    Get some pics up!
And I can tell you this, all suspension is interchangeable it all has same mounting points and top bearings etc
However, spring rates are different on the front for engine type and the rear for body type. So as long as you buy estate springs the back will be fine but you also need to match the engine. Any 1.9 diesel will be ok.
So the 3.0 cdti will make the front sit higher up so don't bother.
You can usually find a cheap set of new Eibach springs on eBay, they would be a good upgrade along with SRI shocks which is probably your gts?

    Hi, thanks for your help.
Sorry, my English is not very good, but I understand that this can not be done ...
I have seen this GTS in a scrapping; my idea is to lower the height a little discreetly and not spend a lot of money now on a new suspension, apart from installing a new suspension of that type that you say would force me to carry out a homologation and legalization to overcome the technical inspection of vehicles ...
Thank you very much for your time and regards.

1.9 cdti gts estate??? What is gts? I do not understand, GTS and Estate are not the same; Estate is Break or Station Wagon, and GTS is 5p liftback ...no?

The GTS is also sold as the GSI....(3.2 litre v6 engine) found in these models:
    Station wagons (estates)
    Hatchbacks (5 door models)
    Saloon (4 door models with a trunk/boot)

The suspension he refers to shouldn't be a problem as I wonder if they would even notice it when swapped over

I would suggest you take a look at axle weights as the 3.0 is 100kg heavier. And estates have a higher rear axle weight as I've already mentioned. Owning 2 estates this information comes checked already

I was talking about the brand Opel as sold in mainland Europe.... the GTS as we know it has been sold as GSI's as Opel does things slightly different to Vauxhall.

I've done it on my estate....got newly fitted front shocks&springs out from 3.0 cdti and my pal kindly fitted them on mine 1.9 cdti. As @Dog_Book already mentioned, front sits bit more up than the rear. New rear sprigs&shocks have been fitted as well....front still higher as 1.9 not so heavy like 3.0 engine. I'm not after lowering the car, so no worries about the speed bumps

    Hi.

Thank you all for your contributions, they are very interesting and of great help to me.

I understand that it can be done, but that the result is not what is desired, right?

As the engine of 3.0 is heavier, its front springs are harder and when installed it in my 1.9, which is lighter, it will lift a little from the front; and the same happens back, but in reverse: as Estate is heavier behind, its rear springs are harder and when installing the GTS 3.0 rear springs, which is lighter, it will fall a little behind, is not it?
I may be interested in that effect, because I think the car itself is a little lower in front, and I like horizontal or even lower back, but, will reduce somewhat the overall height of the set ???

Thank you very much to all!!!
