    Default Suspect Bushes

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on what I'm up against.
Whenever I reverse the car slowly, I can hear what can only be described
as a creaking noise coming from the rear, even when I move into 1st and move slowly forward I get the same creaking noise (sometimes a little bit like a ticking clunk).

If I open my boot and push up and down on my cars rear end I can hear the passengers side rear corner clunking, If push up and down a little harder I can hear both rear corners clunking.

Any Ideas, it's a gsi if that helps.

sounds like rear shocks.. are they showing signs of leaking?..Have you looked at the shocks bushes?..

other 'favorites' for rear end noise include the anti roll bar links and bushes, and the top arm void bushes..

Cheers m8, without wanting to sound daft, what would be the signs for leaking.

'wet' oil stains in the dirt on the lower portion of the dampers..they won't be wringing wet with oil, but if they look wet stained then they'll be the cause..
