probably turned up too high and with the cold mornings and extra fuel the ecu is dumping in till it gets warmed up it could be overfueling.

A bit like when petrol cars used to have Choke.... pulling that out when warm and they would cough and splutter due to too much fuel.

    Dragon make a nice box

I would do as Andrew says and give them a call. Im not getting any problems with my dragon, and no-one else has mentioned it either, whether they have Diag, Tunit or Dragon so it must be to do with either your car or how you have the box set.

Give Mike a call at diagnostix mate (01652 660680), I'm sure he'll get to the bottom of it. Don't forget to mention the site dude.

I have a Diag box and I'm not experiencing any problems, so it's either a faulty box or how it's set up. He'll sort you out mate.

The reason for this is as follows:
The CR1 is analogue and is on all the time, when cold the choke value will cause smoking until the engine is hot.
The CR2 is digital and is programmed not to kick in until the engine is hot to prevent this. Your car will use choke even on hot days as the engine temp is still cold (less than 40 degrees). The units are proven so it may be your setting, if not we will renew it for you no problem.
No harm will come from it, though you can reduce the setting a little if required, any more problems just give us a ring at the office.
    Cheers

Does anyone else have this problem? I saw what Mike said but this sounds a bit extreme.

Or is the problem with the unit?

I notice mine chugs a bit in the cold anyway & there is a noticable deiselly smell.

I don't have the box just yet, but now I'm thinking of a CR2 if it avoids a problem.

(Incidentally, I know I'm wierd bit I like the smell of diesel fumes!!)
