    Default Warranty Work

    Quick 'Possibly Stupid' Question.

Booked the VXR in for some small issues which have been bugging me and they have been moaning abit saying its not warranty work blah blah blah.

If the car is under warranty and they find the problem which is up to me to pay for (lets say brake pads) do I pay for the brake pads and the cost of them finding the problem or just the brake pads??

    Thanks

You pay for the time to find it I was told by my dealer once, I disagree though and reckon they should be able to tell you without a charge, after all we are not qualified to make the judgement ??

What is the problem darren , Maybe someone can throw some light on it. I had scraping brakes which are apperently acceptable as the disks rust quickly *lol*

I don't know where this brake pads etc being covered comes from, it clearly states in the handbook that bulbs, brake pads, exhausts, wiper blades etc are not covered.

Only thing I can possibly think of is those who have had a free replacement have had it through goodwill of the dealer.

And Darren, try slowing up for junctions a bit earlier mate, pads will last longer

During the first 12 months of ownership EVERYTHING is covered, except wear and tear items
I had a set of rear brake discs fail on my Vectra B
The dealerships first attempt was to strip them down, clean and grease the brake pads
However, I had to take the car straight back and demonstrated to the Service Manager what the problem was
"That's not the pads, that's awful"
Sureguard approved new rear brake pads and discs, and they were fitted the following day
I was then given a credit note for the previous work carried out, as this was also claimed on the warranty

Darren - Yours is a 55 plate? Did you buy it NetworkQ mate? If so brakes/discs/clutch and everything are covered as standard.

The NetworkQ warranty is BETTER than a new warranty. I had all discs and pads done on my Vectra done in the 8th month of ownership.

Which garage you using? I know a very good Vx one.

    I am using Evans Halshaw.

I am going to ring Vauxhall and just check with them first. I dont mind paying for wear and tear but paying for them to find the problem is not on.

Sounds like that's your problem!! Not all dealers are like Evans ... have a look at this thread: http://forum.vectra-c.com/showthread.php?t=19222
