I know quite a few now have carcams in their cars and thought it would be a good idea to have a thread that lists the make and model of the camera and a day and night video so you can see what you get for your money and what to buy.

Nice try mate, just because I asked the other guy for the details of his dashcam you have created a new thread about it, it may be a good idea. Good luck.

Thats what prompted me as loads of people ask so a quick search would find one thread to have a look through.
Or you could benefit from all of this guy's hard work and visit his site: http://www.techmoan.com/blog/category/car-dvr-dashcams
There is a very comprehensive guide to dash cams, giving all of the standard functions, how they work, auto switch on/off, loop length, motion detection etc and a lot of specific camera reviews (mostly video reviews) with example footage and links to places to buy them in UK.
What might be useful on this forum, is individual experiences integrating them into a Vectra - placement, how well they fit around the mirror, hardwiring, power source etc.
Well..I'll start with my video this morning... I took a shortcut to beat a lorry which would end up going the same way.. broke a little hard at the junction and the ABS had a little moan ^^
