    Default Radio/speaker problem

So today on the way home I turned the radio up for the music and then suddenly out of nowhere the radio/speakers started playing extremely loud then went back to the original volume. This happened 5-6 times, I can also set the volume to different settings (SD VOLUME 1-5) can anyone shed some light on this please

Did you have the traffic alerts turned on? I know that makes the radio blast when a radio station put out the signal and has shartled me on a few occasions when I've had it turned on. They do do it randomly sometimes and leave it on for about 15 minutes after the traffic info has broadcast, I've left it turned off now as it was too annoying.

I dont know anything about prefacelift stereos so I don't know how to tell if it does have traffic alerts or if they're turned on I'm afraid.

This setting is for the Speed Dependant Volume Control which compensates for surrounding noise from the car by adjusting the volume depending on the cars speed.
5 is very sensitive, 1 is least sensitive. 0 is off. I have found 2 or 3 to be the best setting for me.

Has anyone else got really quiet speakers to all the other vehicles I have driven these seem to be so quiet. What's the best solution for making them louder?
