    Default Fitting rear pads/disks..

Going to be replacing rear disks and pads in the coming weeks, got everything i need i think....
just wondering is the handbrake adjustment fully automatic or do i need to reset something, do i wind the pistons fully in or just enough to allow the pads to fit.

    Cheers for any advice..

Handbrake is automatic just pump the pedal a few times first before using handbrake. They will most probably have to go fully in to allow the pads to fit.

edit: undo ressvior and rewind them back nice and slow.
edit no 2: May as well clean up the slider pins also.

There might be a how2 as the handbrake needs to be reset first before pumping the pedal then operating it.

First thing i did was looked through the how2's but didn't spot anything specific, posts on bleeding the system and caliper refurb, I didn't see one about handbrake reset though..

I initially thought it would be straight forward and wind in the pistons, you've got me doubting myself now.... !!

I'll go and have another look down the how2 lists or on youtube.

Remove the reservoir cap then remove the slide pins that hold the caliper on take the slide rubbers out of the calipers and cleaning corrosion out of the holes with either a round file or a drill bit... when clean put the rubbers back in using a bit of Fairy liquid...Next wind the calipers fully back..I usually spray some 3 in one oil under the dust cover helps to keep things moving, next wire brush the carrier's down bit of copper grease on pads and build back up using engine oil on the slide pins not copper grease.. reservoir cap back on, start car pump brakes back up,then handbrake on &off about 10 times, you will find the hand brake gets better over the next week or so....
