    Default 3.0 CDTI being weird

    Second signum Ive had, this one being a 56 plate 3.0 cdti with 70k on the clock, picked it up early December.

    Its been great, but is now playing up and endless searches on the forum are sending me on many paths, so im hoping for some pointers, any how 2 guides and any recommendations for somewhere local to Hertford to help out if necessary.

    Ok, so on a 300 mile drive back from up north on NYD car was doing absolutely fine, then 50 miles from home, a slight hesitation, but back to usual after that. next day, more hesitation, and a lumpy idle occasionally, including the change from 0.2g/h to 0.9g/h.

    Then a few days ago, big power loss when accelerating, then the eml came on, went into limp home mode. turned off, restarted, no light and car running perfectly. its now running rough more than running well, but certainly seems to have been a gradual decline to now running weird. occasionally revs at idle raise from 700 to 1kish

    No reader at the moment (in the middle of moving house, great timing), but brake test gives codes P0001 and P0235.

    I've had a quick scope around and no obvious splits in hosing, but will head out with a torch later.

    Advice on where to start, happy to do jobs myself but time is a limit.

    0.9 was a DPF regen and you loss a little bit of power and can get lumpy running - the other sounds like a scv type issue however this can be down to a fuel filter needing to be changed or the strainer in the fuel tank

    Also the most common pipe to split is the hard and silicon ones leading to the TB

    Cool thanks Dave, first diesel so not familiar with this regen stuff, I'm assuming it shouldn't be doing it on every trip after 5 minutes or so though? is there a way to check the dpf, is it an exhaust off job (i hate those)

    If it needs to do it it will try repeatedly till its done failure to complete canblock DPF. Take on the Motorway keep above 2.5k rpm when its at operating temp for 20-30 mins and see if that helps. Fuel filter chanege would be a good start especially if you you dont know when it was last done. Just be carefull these are not self priming

    Cool, will get the fuel filter changed.

    So ive just taken it for a run with EGR disconnected, seemed to run much better with no idling issues, only a short run

    also, and perhaps more importantly, I read the code wrong, the p0001 code is P0093, hopefully its a fuel filter over scv's....

    im trying to find a part number for z z30dt fuel filter if anyone can beat me to it!

    do not run it for long with teh EGR disconnected will stop it regen'ing and will cause a host of issues

    Make sure you fill the canister up with fuel when you replace it that should stop the airlock
