I reckon memory cards will replace cds and dvds eventually

Tougher, and when the size of them increases to higher capacities, the old coaster will be dun for.

My Blaupunkt already has one. Also has a line out to plug a hard drive in it. Not used either yet.....Great idea though.

They've still got a lot of catching up to do though! Biggest memory card is I think 8Gb? Blu-ray is around 50Mb? and then hard disks are 500Gb+, so I think it'll be some time before cards replace them. Also don't forget, as they advance technology and get more Gb onto cards, they'll be doing the same for hard drives - so I reckon there will always be that gap.

They've already released a 1Tb Internal Hard Disk.. and theres 2Tb externals out there too! Now that's big! lol Give it 10 years and we'll be up to Petabytes... maybe even Exabytes... and one day, we might just see the Yottabyte (which something like a septillion (yes, it's a word! lol) bytes).....But i doubt that one.. nobody could ever have that much data!!

I think Blu Ray is up to 27Gb per layer, so 54Gb on a dual layer Blu Ray DVD. HD-DVD only has about 15Gb (only! lol)

I must admit, people are finding more and more things to do with USB Flash Drives. You can use them in vista now to give the OS more RAM!

I dare say that one day you will be able to plug your flash drive/memory stick into the "radio" and down load your own music.
