No acceleration for a few seconds while driving.
Hi all my 2.2 automatic recently decided to misbehave. After driving a few minutes my car just won't accelerate, so I just have let go of the acceleration pedal, play with with it for a few seconds then its back on. But imagine if driving fast how scary it can be! No faulty lights comes up in my car. My fuel pump was changed last April as well. Could it be a bad connection somewhere? It's very odd. Thanks.

It raves too much and won't accelerate, it's always while driving. Never at the start.

OK thank you, will look into it. So it can't be related to the fuel pump being faulty?

if the engine speed is rising, ie the revs are going up, but the car speed isn't rising, then the gearbox is at fault, not the fuel pump.
because........SIGNUM!

I agree with bonhead. In the frist instance, change the transmission fluid and ensure it is refilled to the correct level. If it still misbehaves then there is a fault. opcom or tech2 will be needed to get any useful information out of the transmission ecu. The 1.9 uses the af-40 transmission, lots of useful diagnostic information can be found here http://www.sonnax.com/articles/137-a...body-diagnosis. Not sure whether the 2.2 uses the same transmission though.

IIRC, the 2.2 petrol uses the AF23 5 speed autobox

I had someone to look at the car, he is not sure if it is transmission fluid or some problem with the gear box. His computer could not recognise the correct gears. He is supposed to come this afternoon however sadly my car decided she had enough this morning and no longer works. I turn the engine, a worthy noise, no response at all from gear box and the engine switches off. Then won't starter. Then back to the wosshy noise and no réponse. Would a transition fluid deficiency cause that to my engine? I would be very saddened if I have to say good bye to my car.
