    Default Face lift Vec Performance

Just noticed the performance figures for the face lift Vec have been revised from what they were a few weeks ago. They were originally indicating the all 0-60 figures were 1 second slower than the current model.
But now looks like Vx have sorted it and the figures are the same as the current model. Only the 1.9CDTi (150) showing 0.1 of a second slower than previous.

Talking of which, a work colleague had a SRi 1.9CDTi (150) on test the other day - so I took it for a spin. Hadnt been in a Vec with this engine as yet and was very impressed. It was certainly as quick as my 2.2 Direct and the handling was a tad better as the SRi has lower profile tyres (50's - mine has 55's) - but not that much in it. Not quite as quick as the Astra I driven with the same engine a few weeks ago - but still very good.
But (save the best till last) the fuel computer was showing 45mpg average - so a lot better than the 35mpg I get out of mine!!!! Not sure about all that rattling under the bonnet at low speed though!!!!!

Trust me you get used to it. Fit a tuning box and really find out what it can do. Your 2.2 will never keep up then. Mine now has 185bhp and 300 ft/lb torque. It also does 45mpg around town and 55 on a run. Ask AJA as his has even more power!

Just out of interest, how do all you cdti owners find the reliability and longevity of your engines, and are there any issues with cambelts like the petrol lumps.
