Does anyone know if this means theres only 100 of them or was it vauxhall 100th birthday?

It was built to celebrate 100 years of Vauxhall. I thought there were only 100 made also but was told earlier this week that there are 500. Can't find anything to confirm either way how many were built tho.

Symptoms.

Service light on after only 12,000miles and 14months.

Squeeking from Vbelt polytensioner thingy (that was replaced about 6 months ago)

Investigating unpleasant creaking noise from the hatch area.

I have the original sales brochure and it only makes reference to 100 Years of Vauxhall, no details as to how many were made.

It does look distinctive from other Vectras, some short sighted guy thought it was a Beamer

I've not done any mods, but would like to colour code the mud flaps, does that seem a little anal??

There is a guy on here that is having his looked at for a simliar creaking from the hatch area. They think it might be the rear suspension!! Just as well its under extended warranty and vauxhalls and network Q!

This squeeking noise you mention? Does it only happen when the engine is first started, ie the first few miles then it just goes away?

I had this after just 6,000 miles from new, had two V belt tensioners fitter, no joy

In the end VX took the car away, couldn't fix it, so they completely changed the engine for a new one, was fine for 6000 miles, guess what the same noise is back again!!!!!! Now the car is out of warwentry, and I have given up, and just put up with it now, fitted a louder stereo lol.

Now the car has done 39,000 miles but the noise is still about the same. Only does it from cold, worse on frosty mornings, but we don't seem to have many of those lately.

Duncan has had his 2.0T engine's tensioner changed twice now with modified parts...i think it's cured it for him..

Thats wot I thought, but we went round this loop before, a couple of years ago now, and VX assured me that they had fitted the same modified parts to my car, but it didn't cure the problem, hence the engine replacement, but it's funny how the same noise has come back, after almost the exact same mileage?

perhaps D knows the numbers of the parts that they fitted to his?..

You have it down to a TEE. The car didn't do it originally. The reason they replaced the tensioner was because I'd complained about things sounding rough at slow idles and under load. Prior to the change of tensioner there was no squeaking.

It squeaked when cold and the noise dissappeared when things had warmed up abit. But lately the squeak is not going away, even after 100miles of mixed urban and motorway driving.

I'm hoping my VX dealer is going to be sympathetic as it's just 3month out of warranty.

As for the stereo, that works too, as long as I'm alone in the car as my personal preference is Prog Metal, but when the wife is the passenger it has to be "Smooth Jazz" which means you hear everything above the stereo and then a you fall into an aurally induced coma.
