ooh I love Oban, used to stay in a house / cottage in Ardfern, a little south on the A816 ..

used to take mountain bikes etc up there ( this is from Lincoln ) , go out to sea ( no, not on the bikes ) in a little 2 man boat .. :S

some really good roads to play on in that area ..

and theres a whirlpool at the end of the road after Ardfern.

as for time .. no idea

Good road up there (depending on the traffic!) probably would take 2.5 hours. I have done it a lot less before

Do you know what day and time, as this can have a BIG impact!

The A82 can be a tourist trap and very time consuming
When driving from Oban to Glasgow I go :
    Oban - Crianlarich A85
    Crianlarich - Lochearnhead A85
    Lochearnhead - Stirling A84
    Striling - Glasgow M80 / A80 / M80

    Friday 25 May
Traffic will be busier than normal on most routes
It might take nearer 3 hours to complete the journey on this route

2.5 hours MAX will take you to Oban

Various routes to go mate, the A82 to tyndrum then the A85 to oban. Or if the A82 is very busy take the turn off for the A83 at tarbet and follow the A83 to Inveraray then turn off on the A819 to Dalmally then simply follow the A85 to oban.

These 2 routes are the quickest way mate
