The whole idea of starting this thread was in the hope that someone might have suffered the same noises after getting the clutch changed and not to point the finger at what was and was not changed. The car suffered no gearbox or clutch problems prior to getting the parts done, the only reason for me having the clutch replaced was solely because the clutch was slipping slightly and I wanted an uprated disc to stop that happening. There was other damage caused but my main concern is the noise from the gearbox passenger area

Does the VXR use a self adjusting clutch? if they didn't fit it properly and the DMF and slave has some miles on them could well cause the random noises and lack of pressure?

Yes, it has a self adjusting clutch. I was looking into this on the net and someone did point in this direction. I hope it turns out to be that. I am going to be taking the car to another dealer once I get it back from this one and will inform them about the possibilities of the self adjustment?

I'd go with the above, everything has worn together at the same rate, now basically new parts with old parts is now highlighting worn parts...
Take it to another garage, the only way to diagnose it will be pull it apart again...
Getting the original garage to accept liability won't happen... You supplied the parts and they fitted them.
Sorry if it's not what you wanna hear...

The CSC is new along with the rest of the clutch, the only thing that is not Brand new is the flywheel but that's only got about 20,000 miles on it. Surely it won't be needing changed. As I said before there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car apart from the odd clutch slip which was what I wanted fixed by supplying a brand new 3 part item. The garage have now stated that the parts that I've supplied were faulty, that's something I had to laugh at as their workmanship was so spot on!!!!!

Just to add...
They damaged the exhaust heatshield when they removed the exhaust, maybe not a problem to some but it's my car and it was fine before hand. They caused oil leaks whilst carrying out the clutch change, they have also caused problems with my alternator which now gives out a nice humming noise when they unbolted it. They also damaged my front lower spoiler, I found a bolt that they had removed and had fallen onto the wishbone, they said they don't know how it got there and made up some excuse. So they are a really good outfit!
At the end of the day I don't care how much it costs to fix as it's only money and once again this thread was only started to see if anyone had similar strange noises after a clutch replacement not a lesson on supplying parts that were no good for the job, I'm sure vauxhall don't supply parts that are not fit for purpose

Well, had the car in at another local garage and got it back yesterday and guess what, no noise! They stripped out the clutch checked it over and refited it. The only thing that they can say may have been at fault is that due to it being a self adjusting clutch was that it wasn't setup properly, anyway they set it up as per the guidance supplied from LUK and it is now fixed. Only the other problems to solve now but at least the noise is gone and I didn't need any other parts, what I had expected in the first place
