    Default Faith in VX restored

As you will know I have been having warning lights and the traction control light coming on. Hopefully this link will work for the full story http://forum.vectra-c.com/showthread...hlight=tractor

I contacted VX customer services who told me to put it back into the garage again. Took it into my local VX garage, for the second time, and the service supervisor had a look at it instead of one of the technicians. After doing the TECH 2 test, his conclusions was that the ECU was not working correctly and would cost £2K to replace as it could not be bought seperately. I left the car with them to do further checks and he called me back to say that the ECU needed to be replaced at a cost of £1100 but VX would contribute 80% of the cost . The car started to play up 2 weeks after the 3 year warranty had ended. New ECU was fitted on Friday and so far so good.

The service supervisor had said that he thought VX wouldn't give me any money towards it but they did. My advice to anyone is to contact VX customer services and get a reference number from them. The garage can then deal with VX directly and hopefully something will be sorted out to your advantage.

    Good result!
There is a lot of negative feeling on here towards dealers, usually for good reason it has to be said!
It makes a change to see VX doing a good deed!
Maybe they are having a shake up following their dismal result in the latest driver power survey.
They are after all trying to improve their image to a more prestige brand!
    Long may it continue

Sometimes, and I mean sometimes, you get more sense out of service supervisors than out of technicians or service-desk staff, for whom a little knowledge can be a very dangerous thing. Clearly the words 'organ-grinder' and 'monkeys' come to mind!

Glad you got a result James. Maybe VX will do more to keep existing customers happy, instead of hiding behind technology and techno-speak.

My dealer is as painless as it can get , i seriously cannot fault them at all , took my car in on thursday said about the wheel bearing , they popped up the road in it , came back and said yep its mooing , booked me in for monday , turned up courtesy car waiting for me , they did the work , updated the software on the car while they had it . they have never let me down once .

Well my local dealer is hopeless. 3 days after we bought the car they sent me and the wife a letter each saying "come in and buy a car and we'll throw in a £200 bluetooth kit"!! I tried to get them to give us one, but they weren't having it and 3 different people gave us 3 different excuses.

Plus 4 weeks after buying the car we still don't have a radio manual, service book or keycard. Apparently they were posted "last Friday" - does anyone know which mail service is slower than second class?
