Same guy keying my Mates motor
Hi Folks,
Just gonna let off some steam here if you dont mind !
My Mate has had his motor keyed AGAIN ! (3 panels on passenger side ) by this nutter who lives in his same Housing Block. for the 2nd time in 2 years.
First time was after a disagreement in the Pub, and the other guy got barred. But Every one in the Housing block new who it was, as he was so ****ed that he keyed the inside walls of the hallway as well,.... but no-one actually saw him do any of it.
This time is out of the blue, it has happened again, and the only "coincidences are that they were both in a different pub, at the same time this weekend . when the "Nutter got ****ed again.
I got the first damage fixed for a cheap £300 and a good job it was for that amount, as his excess was £300 at that time.
So here we are in the same position with another £300 bill, and the nutter appears to be getting away with it as no-one saw him do it again.
Upshot is we cannot prove it was the Nutter, (who drives too! ) but we are certain it is him.
I dearly want to sort him out, but common sense is holding me back..as it really isnt my personal problem !
Best thing i have thought about is a letter through his front door asking him if he "REALLY LIKES HIS MOTOR AS IT IS OR WOULD HE LIKE IT CUSTOMISED FOR FREE TOO ?
Any ideas would be appreciated ...LOL

I'm not sure what you can do which doesn't lower yourselfs to his level if he IS he culprit .
It happens a lot down here too, my insignia has been done twice since I've had it (a year ) but others near me have had it way worse , mine are very small amounts .
Dunno what to suggest without any kind of proof .

I'd think a letter like that would be as much use as an ashtray on a motorcycle.
Why not report it to the police? Maybe he has (actual )known form for this.

Reporting it to the police will be in your own words as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike lol, you'd get a quicker response and more use reporting it to me

Hard one, with no witnesses. You can't be 100% sure either time that it was him did it.CCTV pointed at where you aprk might catch any more, but there are laws as to where you can put it and what quality is good enough for evidence. If the sides being keyed all a front or rear facing dvr will show is people approaching the car.
You could try somew of the above, the way you describe your suspect I imagine he'd throw the letter away and ignore it. Could ask him if he did it with a witness in earshot, but why would he confess?
I've been tempted by similar idiots in the past to walk the dog past their car with a water pistol full of brake fluid and spray their paintwork, but never did it as it'd be criminal damage and, knowing my luck, I'd be seen. You need proof he did it.

And sending him a spoof letter, (or even outright asking him) may make matters even worse. If he knows that keying your car gets to you, he'll do it again and again. Like Grumpy says - Get Proof and then nail the git.
