    Default New Cat Flap..

    Hi Folks,

I have replaced the magnetic cat flap with a infrared one as we had a visitor twice during the night.

Soot's always used the old flap no problem, but she won't go anywhere near the new one?..

    Any ideas..

    Gazza

put her outside when they're hungry, they'll soon get the idea.

so what you're saying is that your cat now has a laser around her neck - how cool!!!

I had the same problem, m8. With mine it was the fact that once the cat had his collar on with the tag on, his chin blocked the line of sight between the tag and the flap.

If he walked straight up to it from the bottom of the garden, it would click open and no worries, but if he did his usual trick and stood outside looking stoopid for a few mins first, the flap would self-lock again, and he wouldn't be able to get in.

Design flaw, IMO. We ended up just putting the damn thing on permanent unlock, which rather defeats the point of forking out for the bl00dy thing in the first place!

    HTH.
