Blown brake lines blown out
Hi guys,
its been a while since I last had a drama,
so today I replaced the stretched rear handbrake cable and rear pads and discs, however once I fitted them I started up the car with the brake resoivior lid still off, I pumped the brake nice and slow and the pedal just kept sinking to the floor.
i checked for leaks and found it all ****ing out above the fuel tank - this I don't get as as far as I can see the brake lines run along the side of the tank - this is where I need help,
1- are there lines above the tank?
2- if yes because I can't see yet are they mixed pipes I.e metal and flexi hose?
3- if all metal what size is the pipping so I can go get in the morn?
4- does the pipe run all the way from the block in the engine bay to the flex hose at rear?
5- could it just be a connector or union? Is there one there?
or could it just be s little hole in one of the pipes on the side spraying it all over top of fuel tank? It's dripping down both sides of tank.
quite an exhaustive bunch of questions however will help me understand how easy it will be
TIA

sounds like the pipes have gone,in a common place too. Others have used connectors and routed the pipework in an alternative position,ie not over the inaccessible tank.

The piece above the tank runs from a junction behind the right wheel to the left brake. I ripped the old one out and managed to fit a copper replacement with the tank in situ but it was fiddly
