    Default Polish - smearing

Polished and waxed the car, got a great shine but in certain light you can see that the polish has smeared. Is this due to:-

    1. Too much polish
    2. Not enough polish
    3. Leaving the polish on too long
    4. Not leaving the polish on long enough
    5. Rubbing too hard (Nurse the screens)
    6. Not rubbing hard enough (Oooeeerrr Missus)

    any ideas?

    thanks

Also what polish are you using? What are you applying it with? (cloths, pads etc.)

what products have you used Malc? Usually I get smears if I have put the wax on too thickly. Best way is to put the stuff on so you cant see it, but so it dries to a thin haze inside a minute, then buff off.

Are you sure the car was completely dry when you polished? If a water drip gets mixed in with the polish when you are wiping it off it can leave streaks. If this happens to me, I wipe over with a detailing spray and it usually gets rid of it.

After a polish I normally apply some wax anyway now. Gives you a much clearer finish.

Megs Step 2 polish applied with applicator pad.

Could have been a water drip, there always seems to be one lurking somewhere.

Too much is usually the cause.........remember a little polish wax goes a long long way

Best use a paint cleanser to remove it and start again DO NOT be tempted to rub hard or vigorously as this is the usual cause of micro scratches simplest way is to remove and start again
